Through this year at college I'm studying various subjects which all include a strict brief I must stick to. However, the one that seems to be the focal point of the year is my Final Major Project - let's call it the FMP. The FMP is a chance to showcase everything you have learnt over the course in whichever media product you like. As I have a passion for journalism and writing, I have decided to create a blog all about "the journey to university", which you may have gathered from the title. Knowing that I will be spending quite a lot of my time in and out of college on this project, I wanted to choose a topic I could relate to.
Going to university, or not, has become a much debated subject on the lips of thousands of 16-18 year olds. It's a life changing decision and has so many different points to take into consideration. This is what I aim to cover in my blog. From researching into various universities and student accommodation (even working in one student accommodation company for 3 summers!) I understand the enormity of the information you need to know. Therefore, hopefully, my blog will be able to outline the ins and outs, ups and downs and pros and cons of going to uni, or choosing a different path.
I plan on also using written and video intervies, to give you other people's opinions and not just my own.
